Wax Removal Benefits

Acrylic wax does not provide the same level of protection as hardwood finishes like polyurethane. Acrylic wax will require frequent reapplication to hide the smudge, scratches and scuff marks. This can cause problems because the wax can become embedded in the grains of wood.

Multiple layers of wax can build up leading to a thick, uneven coating altering the natural appearance of the wood, causing yellowing. There will be dirt and other particles trap between each layer of wax. The only way to have clean floors is to remove the wax.

The wax can create a slippery surface, especially when wet. This poses a safety hazard in areas prone to spills or moisture, such as kitchens and bathrooms. Proscout Hardwood Floor Restoration have the right solutions, equipment, and experience to get the job done.

Removing old layers of acrylic wax can be challenging and labor-intensive. It requires specific products and specialized equipment. Our professional has the experience needed to remove the wax and restore your floors.

Real Life Situation Charlotte NC

Customer applied Bona Polish and Quick Shine to her floors every other Sunday for 5 years. At the two-year mark she had to apply more polish and more frequently to maintain the shine. They started to notice scuffs, scratches, and dog hairs in the wax. “It just wouldn’t come up.” Her words not mine.  After years of fighting to clean and maintain her floor, she finally gave up. She asked her husband to call us and have the wax removed.
